Clevy Dyscover 2 – Manual

Intro

With the Clevy Dyscover, the Clevy Keyboard becomes a tool for children with dyslexia. This special cover contains the sounds that dyslexic children struggle with and can be placed over the Clevy Keyboard.

The Clevy Dyscover only works when the Dyscover software is installed. The Dyscover software ensures that the sounds typed on the Dyscover also appear on the screen and that the audio of the sounds is heard (if you have a sound card and speakers). In addition, with the Text-To-Speech feature it is possible to have word parts, words, and complete sentences pronounced with the Clevy Dyscover voice.

Possibilities with Dyscover

When you start the software, the icon of the “Dyscover” appears in the bottom right of the screen:  The program is now activated and the Dyscover can be used.

If you right-click on the icon at the bottom right of the screen, you will see the menu of the Dyscover software. In the menu of the Dyscover software you can change various settings. Each time you enable or disable functionalities of the Dyscover, the color of the icon changes. You can now see exactly which functions are enabled or disabled. All possible icons with their meaning are described below.

Sound on / Tones on / Text-to-Speech on

Sound on / Tones off / Text-to-Speech on

Sound off / Tones on / Text-to-Speech off

Sound off / Tones off / Text-to-Speech off

Sound on / Tones on / Text-to-Speech off

Sound on / Tones off / Text-to-Speech off

If you click on “Settings” in the menu, the settings menu will appear. Here you can also enable or disable sound, tones, and Text-To-Speech. Additionally, you can adjust the volume for the entire Dyscover software.

There are different options in the Text-To-Speech section of Dyscover. You can activate Text-To-Speech after typing a word. You can also enable or disable the selection and speaker functions and adjust the speed at which the Text-To-Speech software reads.

The Text-to-Speech function works in all software within MS Windows where you can input text. Please note that if you have typed something incorrectly, you can remove the mistyped part using the backspace key. Only in this way will the Text-To-Speech functionality work optimally and prevent deleted text from being read aloud.

In this menu, you can also set whether the software starts automatically when you turn on the computer.
