Some changes happen at once. Others happen gradually, through years of listening, learning, and growing. At Clevy, that journey has been unfolding for quite some time, and now we’re introducing an updated brand identity that better reflects who we are today.
How Clevy Started
Clevy began with one colourful product: the Clevy Keyboard.
It was introduced as a child-friendly “first keyboard”, designed to give young children a positive introduction to computers. But over time, people began using it for much more.
Its bigger keys, clear colour coding, simplified layout and tactile feedback also proved valuable for people who find a standard keyboard difficult to use. Through feedback, partnerships and real-world use, accessibility became an increasingly important part of Clevy.
Our product range has grown as well. Some products remain closely connected to children and education, while others serve completely different audiences. The Clevy Contrast Keyboard, for example, is designed for people with low vision and has no specific connection to children.
Children remain an important part of Clevy, but they are no longer the whole story.
The Next Step for Our Brand
Our branding has developed alongside Clevy. Over the years, we have introduced cleaner packaging, a more modern website and a more consistent visual style.
The colourful Clevy wordmark, however, remained at the centre of our identity. It is familiar and closely connected to our beginnings, but it also continued to create the impression that Clevy was mainly a children’s brand.
Now, we’re ready for a visual identity that better reflects the brand Clevy has become. One that is more about inclusion and bridging the gap between people and technology through thoughtful, accessible design. Our updated identity is not a complete reinvention. It is the next step in a development that has already been underway for years.
The New Clevy Brand Mark
In the previous logo, each letter of the Clevy wordmark had its own colour. In the new identity, those familiar colours come together in a separate Clevy brand mark, while the recognisable wordmark now appears in one consistent dark-blue colour.
We explored various icons but kept returning to a brand mark that felt bright, clever and resourceful. These qualities also reflect how we develop our products: by listening carefully, understanding real needs and finding thoughtful, practical solutions.
The result is calmer, more refined and more versatile, while still being recognisably Clevy.
Dark blue will become our main brand colour, supported by light blue and green. We are also using a slightly lighter font for most headings and titles. Moving from Museo 900 to Museo 700 keeps the letters more open and distinct, improving readability, particularly for people with low vision. The main Clevy wordmark retains its familiar heavier appearance.
Our product logos will also be updated to combine the new brand mark with a cleaner presentation of each product name.
What Happens Next?
The new identity will be introduced gradually. Our website and social media channels will change first, followed over time by packaging, manuals, flyers and other printed materials.
But this change is about more than our appearance. Looking ahead, we want to develop more assistive products, work closely with users and assistive technology experts through co-creation, and continue improving the products we already offer.
Clevy may look a bit different, but the thinking behind what we do remains the same.
