Honoring the Heart of Every Family
This past Sunday, June 1st, we joined the international community in recognizing the Global Day of Parents, a day established by the United Nations to honor the critical role parents play in the upbringing and protection of children around the world.
The UN reminds us that “parents of every race, religion, culture and nationality are the anchors of the family unit and the foundation of strong, healthy communities.” For families raising children with disabilities, neurodiversity, or accessibility needs, that role often expands beyond parenting into full-time advocacy, support, and problem-solving.
At Clevy, we see these families every day. Whether they are foster parents, biological parents, or permanent caregivers, we are constantly moved by their creativity, persistence, and care.
Parenting: a constant challenge
For many families, parenting means navigating a world that isn’t always built with their child in mind. It’s about finding ways to support learning, connection, and growth, even when systems fall short. From adjusting routines to adapting environments, parents often take on roles that require deep resourcefulness and compassion.
We’ve met caregivers who struggle to find strategies (and tools), who become experts in accessibility not because they trained for it, but because their child needed them to. Their stories remind us that real change often starts at the kitchen table, not in a conference room.
And their voices remind us why we do what we do.
Supporting Families Is at the Core of What We Do
The Global Day of Parents is a reminder that building an accessible future means supporting not just the child, but the whole family. Our mission is to make that easier by designing tools that are not only functional, but thoughtful, adaptable, and age appropriate.
Whether it’s a large-key keyboard for a child with low vision, or noise-limiting headphones for sensory comfort, we design with real families in mind, because we listen to them, and we learn from them.
To Every Parent: We See You
Being a parent means navigating a lot of unknown challenges, without a clear roadmap. For families supporting children with different needs, that journey can involve even more questions, more research, and more advocacy than most people realize. You’re not just showing up for your child. You’re helping shape a world that’s more understanding, more flexible, and more inclusive for others, too.
Alt Clevy, we don’t take that lightly. We’re here not just to offer tools, but to listen, learn, and grow alongside you. We want to acknowledge everything you’re doing, even the parts that go unseen. The small adjustments. The late-night searches. Quiet encouragement. It all matters.
And we’re grateful to be a small part of that story.
