The Clevy Keyboard is a durable mechanical keyboard designed for children and individuals with motor impairments. It supports learning to type, read, and use computers, while promoting digital accessibility for people with disabilities. This version is available in multiple layouts and connects wirelessly using Bluetooth® technology.
NOTE: This product line is now End-of-Life and no longer supported.
The Clevy Keyboard 3 offers USB & Bluetooth connectivity: wired and wireless in one. Watch the video to learn how to switch between them.
Other than updated connectivity, we have included other new features in this version:
Characters up to 4x bigger than standard keyboards, enhancing visibility and ease of use. The keyboard maintains a standard size.
Constructed with a steel plate and equipped with high-quality ALPS switches, the Clevy Keyboard is built for over 50 million keystrokes, ensuring durability and a consistent feel.
Vertical key arrangement improves hand positioning and simplifies the structure. The keyboard also has less function keys than a standard keyboard, focusing only on essential keys. The keyboard contains 67 keys.
Uses educational system-aligned or group-specific tailored fonts, ensuring ease of recognition and readability.
Smart color coding highlights various functional areas, making the keyboard intuitive and simpler to navigate.
The Key Repeat switch on the back of the keyboard lets you enable or disable repeated characters when holding down a key. This hardware solution overrides any software exceptions on your device, making it ideal for people who need guidance with their motor skills.
Designed to channel spilled liquids away from internal components, thus protecting the electronics and extending the keyboard’s lifespan.
Typing is much better with the Clevy Keyboard. The size of the keys offers a big advantage in reducing typing errors. Also, the color layout, which allows vowels and consonants to be found quickly and clearly, makes typing with the Clevy Keyboard more pleasant with fewer typos.
My student, who is just learning to type, loves the Clevy Keyboard! The larger size and color-coding support her to build familiarity with the keyboard and ease frustration as she’s learning. Of the color-coding patterns I have seen in the past on other keyboards, this design makes good sense to us both and draws appropriate attention to letters versus numbers and highlights the vowels. The feature to prevent keystroke repeats is also fantastic.
Luckily, I found the Clevy Keyboard on internet and was immediately impressed. It was exactly what I had tried to make myself. Only even better! Every key is larger than on conventional keyboards, but the keyboard itself isn’t. Because rarely used keys were simply left out. The keys are color‑coded according to function, and even the vowels (or syllables kings, as they’re called at school) are highlighted, which my son particularly liked! And the frame is white, which looks much friendlier than the usual black.
The small letters are especially helpful. The color-coding also helps them quickly identify patterns. It makes typing more manageable for children who would otherwise struggle. […] For students with motor issues, the LED feedback for keypresses is also very helpful. And I didn’t know about the switch on the back that turns off key repeat and turns on function key access.
When I was 8, my parents gave me a Clevy Keyboard with large, colorful keys. That changed a lot for me. Thanks to that keyboard, I learned how to type. My physical therapist helped me a lot with this. At first, it was slow, with small steps, but now I can type easily on a regular laptop, which I use every day at home and in the classroom. I can do my schoolwork, follow lessons, and take tests – all without getting frustrated or using up all my energy on writing. The Clevy keyboard gave me a fair chance to show what I’m really capable of.
