The feature to prevent keystroke repeats is fantastic

My student, who is just learning to type, loves the Clevy Keyboard! The larger size and color-coding support her to build familiarity with the keyboard and ease frustration as she’s learning. Of the color-coding patterns I have seen in the past on other keyboards, this design makes good sense to us both and draws appropriate attention to letters versus numbers and highlights the vowels. The feature to prevent keystroke repeats is also fantastic.

Every key is larger than on conventional keyboards, but the keyboard itself isn’t

Luckily, I found the Clevy Keyboard on internet and was immediately impressed. It was exactly what I had tried to make myself. Only even better! Every key is larger than on conventional keyboards, but the keyboard itself isn’t. Because rarely used keys were simply left out. The keys are color‑coded according to function, and even the vowels (or syllables kings, as they’re called at school) are highlighted, which my son particularly liked! And the frame is white, which looks much friendlier than the usual black.

Nice but not the Bluetooth one
I really like how big this keyboard is. I have a son with autism so this big letters really help. It doesn’t work with certain typing games you can download on App Store but it’s super cute and great. I thought it was the Bluetooth version but sadly I got the wired one so there’s a bunch of wires to connect it to and from my son’s iPad. I like that it is visually clear
I like that it is visually clear, and has the spill protection features. But the metal tray on the bottom makes the keys noisy, it actually rings when you get to typing fast. Not sure the big keys are an asset for little kids (small hands). Makes it difficult to reach the keys for touch typing from the home row.

Clevy (Contrast) Keyboard 3 Tri Mode supports wired and wireless connections:

  • USB-C wired connection
  • Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connection
  • SimplyWorks 2.4 GHz wireless connection

Note: USB-C and Bluetooth work right out of the box. SimplyWorks hardware is built in, but activation depends on a firmware update.

SimplyWorks is a 2.4 GHz wireless connection designed for assistive technology setups.

It requires a SimplyWorks RECEIVE unit, which is sold separately.

Note: SimplyWorks on the Clevy Keyboard becomes available after a firmware update.

Yes. The keyboard works as any standard keyboard, so it does not require drivers.

It is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. Bluetooth also works with iOS and Android devices that support external keyboards.

For USB-C wired use, no batteries are needed.

For wireless use, the keyboard uses 2 AA batteries. Batteries are not included. Alkaline batteries are recommended.

No. The wireless modes use 2 AA batteries and are not rechargeable.

Follow these steps:

  1. Insert 2 AA batteries
  2. Set the wireless mode switch on the back of the keyboard to BT.
  3. Open Bluetooth settings on your computer or tablet and search for devices.
  4. If pairing does not start automatically, briefly press the pairing button on the back using a pen tip.
  5. Select Clevy KB3 and follow the prompts on your device.

Tip: Pairing mode stays active for about 3 minutes.

Use the Bluetooth pairing troubleshooter in the Manual.

If it still does not work, contact us via the contact form and mention your Windows version.

Yes. You can connect via Bluetooth.

The keyboard also supports an iPad mode with built in shortcuts. You can switch modes using the shortcuts described in the manual.

Wireless range is up to 10 meters in typical conditions.

Clevy Keyboard 3 is available in the multicolor version.

For higher contrast, there is the Clevy Contrast Keyboard 3 – Tri Mode in black and white or yellow.

We regularly work on new layouts and we are open to suggestions.

Clevy Keyboard is designed for accessible typing:

  • Significantly larger keycaps with large, high contrast characters that are easier to see and target
  • A simplified, structured layout with clear spacing and color coding to reduce visual clutter and typing errors
  • Mechanical tactile switches that provide clear physical feedback with every key press, helping users know when a key is activated
  • A built in switch to disable key repeat, preventing unwanted repeated characters when a key is held down
  • Built in assistive modes such as Sticky Keys, Input Detection, Function Keys Tool, and ABCDE layout support, all controlled directly from the keyboard without software
  • Spill management design with drainage holes to reduce damage from accidental spills
  • Multiple connection options in one device, including USB-C, Bluetooth, and SimplyWorks RF
  • Native support for computers, tablets, and assistive technology setups without installing drivers
  • Optional assistive accessories such as a keyguard and a silicone cover for extra protection and accuracy

Aside from the different colored keycaps and fonts, there are no differences between the Clevy Keyboard 3 and Clevy Contrast Keyboard 3.

The keyboard is durable, but it is not waterproof and has no IP rating.

For disinfecting, use isopropyl alcohol 70 to 90 percent on a soft cloth.

Avoid harsh solvents such as acetone.

For higher risk environments, a silicone cover can add extra protection.

Follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect USB power and switch the keyboard off.
  2. Remove the AA batteries.
  3. Let liquid drain through the drainage holes.
  4. Air dry for 24 to 48 hours.
  5. If problems remain, contact support.

Press ‘ALT’ + ‘ALTGR’ + ‘R’ to reset Bluetooth and SimplyWorks connections and restore keyboard settings to default.
